Under moderate to minimal guidance, the position is responsible for interpreting information for management decision making; complies with internal/external requirements and regulations; serves as resource for internal/external customers; and prepares basic reports and information.  The work may involve any of the following:

 

  • Prepares and analyzes reports/information associated for monthly management reporting
  • Gathers and analyzes information for monthly variance explanations which may involve preparing various schedules, reports and analyses for distribution to internal customers.
  • Analyzes or reconciles general ledger accounts, and may make adjusting entries to ensure accounts balances are complete, correct and in compliance.
  • Provides support and analysis regarding revenue accounting activities related to the Geismar Olefins facility, Louisiana feedstock pipelines and newly acquired Texas pipelines.
  • Maintains complete accounting records and associated back-up documentation for various business unit and/or subsidiary companies
  • Present or provide relevant information based on the needs of the audience which may involve providing timely and accurate accounting and financial information to business leadership, Manager Olefins Accounting, Corporate Accounting and joint owners.
  • Work cross functionally with various business disciplines to assure correct reporting information. 
  • Fulfills requests for information with external and internal audit 
  • Completes ad hoc and special projects as assigned
  • Preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statements 
  • Preparation of various schedules and other information on an as needed basis.

 

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field of study with strong accounting emphasis.
  • At least 2-4 years of related experience with operational and industry related experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates an aptitude to understand complex processes and computerized accounting systems.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc); familiarity with Oracle preferred.
  • Ability to work with large amounts of detailed data and translate data into meaningful information
  • Ability to transfer learning, knowledge & skills across multiple projects
  • Self-starter with proven ability to establish and meet goals and objectives
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required in order to effectively interact and clearly communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization
  • Special projects as requested
  • Ability to strive for results

 

Williams Corporation will not pay relocation costs associated for this position.

 

Position will be filled commensurate with experience.
