Marathon Oil, an energy industry leader, is engaged in the worldwide exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas.  Marathon is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant in our Oklahoma City, Oklahoma office.  The successful candidate will perform a variety of administrative duties, in support of the Oklahoma subsurface and land teams.    

  • Coordinate travel logistics utilizing a web-based system and prepare itineraries; along with processing business invoices as well as travel receipts.
  • General administrative responsibilities and requests, including calendar / meeting management, confidential document handling, ordering supplies, mail processing, collating materials and general correspondence as needed.
  • This position will be rotate into the receptionist office as needed, to ensure consistent coverage for visitors and deliveries to office.
  • Handle logistics for daily, weekly, monthly meetings including ordering catering, scheduling meeting rooms, arranging audio and video conferences, emailing notices to participants, preparing meeting handouts/binders, etc.
  • Responsible for maintenance and input of various daily and weekly industry and corporate data into designated spreadsheets.
  • Serve as department timekeeper, tracking vacations, etc., and inputting into designated system.
  • Coordinate and process monthly bulk mailings to various third party customers.
  • Handle incoming correspondence (mail, faxes, etc.) and outgoing monthly mailings.
  • Possess a high level of initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to analyze, correct and input data into technical reports.
  • Self motivated individual with ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Two + years of office experience in administrative support capacity, oil & gas experience preferred though not required.
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, e-mail and PowerPoint. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  Associate college degree preferred. 
  • Must be able to interact with broad range of individuals including company leaders and other administrative assistants.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skill, attention to detail is essential.
