Overview:

The successful candidate will interpret 2D/3D seismic data, make well synthetic ties, create velocity & seismic models, be knowledgeable about seismic acquisition & imaging, and be able to integrate gravity & magnetic data.  Additionally, the candidate should have experience working deep water GoM and be familiar with play fairways, salt tectonics and deep water depositional sequences as applied to prospect maturation and exploration well recommendations. The position will require close interaction and collaboration with the following internal groups: Regional Studies, Appraisal, Production, Technology, Land/Commercial and Planning.  The candidate will also interact with Communities of Practice, Joint Industry Projects and external professional societies; networking is important.  This is a senior position and the candidate will be seen as an informal leader and expected to influence team goals and workflows.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead Geophysicist within integrated team to mature prospects as part of the Paleogene portfolio, make recommendations to management by providing geological/geophysical summaries, resource/risk analysis, economics and commercial considerations.
  2. Oversee 3D seismic licensing, acquisition & imaging projects, including operations and well evaluations.  Seismic well operations will be key also.
  3. Evaluate workflow and recommend improvements.
  4. Manage multiple projects that have near-term and long-term goals or milestones.
  5. Work with leadership team to develop business plans and strategic vision.
  6. Clearly communicate and document project results and recommendations; active participation and leadership in team meetings and knowledge sharing events. 
  7. Mentor and develop less experienced staff.
Qualifications:

Degree: Bachelors Required, Masters Preferred
Major Discipline: Geophysics
Years Experience Required: Minimum 15 years total industry experience
Computer Proficiencies: Intermediate PC skills are required in Microsoft desktop suites. Landmark/Seisworks/PowerView and Risk Analysis are important, Hampson-Russell/RockDoc and ArcMap are preferred.
