The Business Unit Consultant (BUC) is a WIT Operations position.  The primary purpose of this position is to be the focal point between WIT Operations, IBM, External Service Providers, and their respective business unit.  


Some of the Operational events, planned and unplanned, occur after normal business hours. The role is a focal point for infrastructure requires frequent off- hour involvement with outage situations.



  • This is primarily a communication role.  The primary responsibility is to ensure effective communications between WIT Operations and the WIT Account Managers. 
  • Represent Midstream applications needs in internal WIT Operations, WIT Operations/IBM and external Service Providers discussions
  • Support the Critical Situation Manager role and represent Infrastructure and Applications
  • Perform service management
  • Perform rotational situation management for WIT Operations (would cover all areas, not just Midstream applications)
  • Provide ideas and solutions for continuous service improvement
  • Liaison between Applications, Infrastructure, IBM, and other service providers to improve the end to end delivery of services through the available established process and procedures
  • Perform project management duties for smaller projects.  This role will also facilitate other IBM and WMB project managers while interfacing with the corporate account managers.



  • Bachelor degree in IS or other related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (7 to 10 years).
  • Strong process improvement experience
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Experienced in an outsourced environment helpful
  • Knowledge of infrastructure functions (server, storage, networking, client) is a preferred
  • Knowledge of Midstream applications is beneficial but not required.
  • Customer service skills emphasized
  • ITIL  Experience Helpful
