The Coordinator of Maintenance coordinates and manages maintenance activities of contractors.  Works with planners and supervisors to plan and manage maintenance tasks, schedule PMs, order replacement parts, and manage the work-order database.   Schedule maintenance activities related to transportation facilities, railroads, dock loading equipment, weed and vegetation control, daily maintenance activities, projects, and outages /turnarounds.  Key activities include:

 

  • Management of assigned work orders including review of requests, formulation of options, selection of the best option, adherence to established environmental and safety criteria and completion of the work.
  • Evaluation and continuous improvement of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Coordination of all necessary resources, including parts, tools, people and warehousing as required for maintenance.
  • Ensures activities are performed as scheduled by competent and, if necessary, certified personnel.  Includes preparation of scope of work, ensuring service contracts or purchase orders are in place, verify qualifications of contractors, report review and acceptance, and communication with other departments as appropriate.
  • Acts as a liaisons for equipment vendors to monitor technical advances and to recommend advantageous improvements.
  • Reviews backlog work and partners with the planner to identify priority status.
  • Ensures activities follow plant policies and procedures.
  • Maintains records and documentation on all department equipment, safety systems and regulation compliance requirements in the maintenance management system.
  • Develops RFQ’s and works with purchasing to assure prompt delivery of goods and services.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years related experience as a qualified trades person
  • Working knowledge of ASME/CSA Codes and Standards.
  • Intricate knowledge of plant equipment, policies and procedures.
