Overview:

This position will provide support for Marathon’s Oklahoma, East Texas/North Louisiana and Grand Junction, Colorado Operations group with regards to facilities inspection and maintenance activities for new and existing wells, with heavy emphasis on continued improvement and reliability with regards to below activities.  This position is part of a Maintenance and Construction team, based in Oklahoma City and will work closely with peers, procurement, field operations, etc. across four states.

Responsibilities:
  • Support engineering staff and field personnel in managing reliability plans. 
  • Use various software packages to create reports, graphs, drawings, etc.
  • Work with engineers, supervisors and production technicians to set up inspection programs for Oklahoma Operations.
  • Perform necessary facilities equipment inspection applying Company standards. Inspections include, but are not limited to,
    • Visual inspection of pressure vessels, tanks and production equipment.
    • Visual inspection of pipelines, process and control valves.
    • Perform Ultrasonic thickness (UT) scans on vessels.
    • Inspection of Cathodic Protection.
    • Inspection of Grounding Systems.
  • Support technical evaluation efforts of the facilities engineering and installation team.
  • Recommend new approaches to improve the quality and reliability of the facilities equipment.
  • Adhere to all Health, Environment, Safety and company policies and procedures.

This position requires more than 80% in on sight / field level presence.

Qualifications:
  • Self motivated individual with ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  Technical degree preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Computer proficiencies: Excel, Word, and Power Point required. 
  • Understanding of oil and gas field Industry.
  • Preferred 2+ years of technician or equivalent experience supporting technical staff.
