Marathon Oil, an energy industry leader, is engaged in the worldwide exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas. Marathon is currently seeking a Field Operator for the Watonga/Wheatland, OK operating area to efficiently maximize production from assigned wells, maintain surface separation and flow assurance equipment, and report/review production data in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

Responsibilities: |
- Ensure that all TOW and SCADA data are correct on a daily basis. Advise field supervision of any problems.
- Check for any safety or environmental related issues on location
- Check all plunger lift wells, make sure plungers are running properly; check daily gauges to verify loss or gain of pumped fluids.
- Check gas lift wells and compression associated with gas lift, ensure gas volumes are correct.
- Check pressure on tbg, csg, and surface csg for injection wells daily
- Ensure that all wells are producing at maximum rates.
- Check injection stations for proper lubrication, leaks, and unusual sounds. Report problems to supervisor.
- Check all pumps (pneumatic, solar, electric or mechanical) to see if they are in proper working order or repair if needed.
- Work with oil and gas purchasers for proper measurement and sales of oil and gas (including working tanks of oil for sales with proper documentation).
- Check pumping units for maintenance as required.
- Operation of gas compressors and flares as needed.
- Ensure all pilots and burners are lit, if needed and functioning properly (good and clean flame), repair if needed.
- Adhere to all Health, Environment, Safety and company policies and procedures.
- Check all locks and seals periodically
- Complete TIER 1 audits in a timely manner

Qualifications: |
- Self motivated individual with ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to utilize laptop PC and applicable software.
- Excellent mechanical abilities and troubleshooting skills.
- Field operator (pumper) experience or general oilfield exposure is highly preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to: work in temperature extremes or adverse weather conditions; to work both in and out of company-owned vehicle; wear appropriate safety equipment; walk, bend, stoop and lift; work in several geographic locations each day.
