Inside Parts Specialist/Shipping/Receiving/Stocking Location: Watford City Job Code: 24 # of Openings: 1 Description POSITION INFORMATION: The Inside Parts Specialist is responsible for locating the proper parts, billing parts through the shop used in the repair procedure. This position is also responsible for the receiving and stocking process of parts for the fleet. In addition s/he verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing parts using the business systems as so provided or used by Power Fuels. This person will also assist in maintaining a high standard of excellence in the parts department to include personal and facility appearance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Must comply with all corporate policies and procedures. Must be proficient with computer skills, including use of Web to obtain information on various vendors for servicing our fleet. Be friendly, professional, and efficient when working with everyone, both on the phone and in person. Assist service technicians and drivers in selecting parts needed for repairs in process. Order parts not in stock if, after discussion with Shop Foreman, it is determined that parts are needed and will be used upon receipt or that the technician will return for the required repairs. Help keep control of all expenses on freight, supplies, and lift trucks. Make sure that we always get the most competitive price for our money. Notify the Shop Foreman that ordered parts have been received. Ensure that before parts can be charged out, the technician presents the repair order. Pull billed parts from stock. Receive parts shipment and/or deliveries Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record damages and or shortages. Correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Check in all parts as per packing slips. Count quantity received and note on packing slip. Ensure that parts are stocked correctly and promptly in assigned bin locations. Assign bin locations for all new parts coming into stock. Maintain an efficient bin location system. Operate lift truck or use hand truck to move parts Return all cores in a timely manner and follow for receipt of credit. Ensure that all excess boxes and pallets are disposed of in a timely manner, as to maintain a clean facility inside and outside. If the part is not in stock, determine availability and submit an emergency order if requested. Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery or pickup. Issue credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified. Exceptions must be approved by the Parts Manager. Keep counter and parts department clean and uncluttered. Keep entire Department in good, clean, and professional appearance and condition. Advise Parts Manager when areas of the parts department are not in satisfactory condition. Keep current on new products and product updates. Ensure that unused “foreign parts” are returned to vendor. Participate in all training programs that are made available. Ensure that computer terminal is kept clean and in good working order. Perform any additional tasks or duties as assigned by Management. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or the equivalent. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Minimum of one year of experience in a heavy truck parts department. Professional personal appearance. Ability to work well with the public, sometimes with several people at a time. Multi-tasking will be a daily process in working with co-workers. Must have strong math and organizational skills. Valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Ability to drive and operate a forklift safely. WORKING CONDITIONS: This is a physically demanding position. Will lift and transport parts weighing up to 70 pounds several times a day. Will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Will operate a forklift.
