Reporting to the Organizational Development Manager, the Houston-based Learning Services Manager has responsibility for the development, maintenance and implementation of the company’s e-learning strategy. This position will lead a talented two-person Learning Services team and partner in a highly collaborative way with; key internal customers, external service providers and our learning community subject matter experts.

Responsibilities: |
- Lives the Marathon Values around integrity, inclusion, safety and respect
- Working Manager who leads high performance team in delivering on current performance commitments related to design and delivery of content and our Learning Management System.
- Further develops company e-learning strategy and workflow success metrics in partnership with key stakeholders both domestic and international
- Works closely with external LMS partner companies and internal technology and subject matter expert resources to assure reliability and value for enterprise
- Assures existing, developed or acquired/integrated content is relevant/current and assigned appropriately
- Provides performance feedback to staff with regularity and seeks out feedback from customers in a systemic manner
- Manages and contributes creatively to complex e-learning training projects, including research, content development, learning design, technology integration, systems testing, and launch to ensure superior performance
- Contributes to Marathon’s Training and Development Community of Practice proactively
- Completes training development projects on time and within budget with little sacrifice in product quality. Work delivery standards will include cost efficiency and sustainability criteria

Qualifications: |
Degree: Bachelor's in training and development or related field
Experience: At least eight years in developing and implementing e-learning strategy. Prior management experience.
- Track record of achievement and reputation for ethical, positive and engaged leadership
- Deep subject matter expertise and experience in the areas noted above and an orientation to staying current with industry best practices
- Energy related experience or at a minimum a strong understanding of the importance of regulatory requirements in an industrial setting
- Experience with learning technologies (e.g., Flash, Captivate, SQL Database)
- Strong customer collaboration approach to service delivery and passionate about maintaining high client satisfaction.
- Experience partnering with third parties to deliver off-the-shelf learning solutions.
- Strong communication and problem solving skills,
- Demonstrated quality improvement orientation
- Demonstrated track record for developing others and working well in a team environment
- Strong project management skills and an organized daily approach
- Budget management experience
- Process driven orientation but flexible enough to handle shifting priorities
