Marathon is currently seeking a Production Engineer in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to support our growing exploration and production program across Oklahoma.   Primary job duties involve well surveillance, identifying and repairing well maintenance issues, and optimizing production.  Project planning, economic analysis and safe implementation are also primary job responsibilities.  This position is part of a production engineering team handling the Oklahoma asset and will be involved in project peer reviews and well reviews with field operations and engineering personnel across the asset in an effort to optimize well performance and project execution. 

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and plans along with federal, state and local regulations. 
  • Ensure consistency in implementation of field operations with focus on HES goals and meeting all regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure retention of lessons learned to be shared across the department(s) for improved performance.
  • Daily oversight of field production, and involvement in field yearly production and expense forecasts
  • Attain production goals by analyzing well data and formulating recommendations to maximize rates and minimize well downtime; identify opportunities to apply new technology and improve well performance. 
  • Actively participate in peer reviews with field operators, engineers and production supervisors to share ideas and generate solutions.
  • Enhance base production by identifying programs that make significant impact i.e. gas lift installation; centralized compression, etc.
  • Prepare well repair & maintenance and workover procedures as required and provide rig supervision for activities as required.
  • Economic analysis of well performance and project expectations.
  • Model wellbores using diagnostic tools (NODAL analysis, SROD, etc.) in order to optimize performance. 
  • Participate in expense optimization primarily in the areas of artificial lift, compression, chemical management and automation.
  • Expense and capital project Authority for Expenditure preparation and review for operating area.
  • Responsibilities will include production monitoring and evaluation; asset management planning, workover design and execution, production equipment design, cost estimating and budgeting. 
  • Interfacing with working interest partners, service companies and regulatory agencies. 
Qualifications:
  • Degree: Bachelors in Petroleum Engineering Required
  • Computer Proficiencies: Excel, Outlook and Word are required. Wellview, Nodal Analysis, Aries and TOW, preferred.
  • Minimum six (6) years experience in Production and/or Operations; field engineering support preferred; conventional gas and unconventional shale experience preferred.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to design and implement well programs; knowledge in well design, completions, workovers and production optimization.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills for interfacing with all levels of the organization; strong organization and communication skills, self-motivated, well organized, creative and results oriented.
  • Demonstrated technical and communication abilities to assess and present to all levels of the organization including peers, division and senior management and various corporate groups.
