Responsible for supporting the execution of the strategic sourcing strategy.  Provide process oversight to the strategic sourcing team who are responsible for sourcing of products and services in support of the company.   Ensure quality sourcing solutions are delivered efficiently and effectively bringing most value to the organization.

  • Ensure solutions meet the requirements of business owners.
  • Facilitate the sourcing, contracting, and negotiation process to ensure business and risk protection in conjunction with the legal team and other groups (IT Security, HR, EHS)
  • Oversee the tools with responsibility to own and maintain all supply chain related tools including, but not limited to: contract management, RF(x) templates, bid guidelines, spend analytics, supplier selection and performance management templates.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the strategic sourcing business plans, communication plans, negotiation strategies, special projects relating to supply chain strategies; report to senior management as necessary.
  • Support negotiation and preparation of high visibility and dollar value bids, requests for quotes, and proposals, including supporting analysis, comparisons, and other required documentation.
  • Oversee and provide direction on the project management life cycle of sourcing projects.
  • Ensure a collaborative and partnering approach with business unit or functional owners, as well as potential and current vendors.
  • Develop strong supplier partnership relationships.  Conduct quarterly/annual business reviews.
  • Develop Statements of Work aligned with organizational standards
  • Responsible for maintaining current contract files
  • Responsible for adding and maintaining vendors in procurement/payables system
  • Perform other related duties or projects as assigned.


  • This position requires a team player with demonstrated organizational competencies, strong communication skills and interpersonal capabilities in dealing with shifting priorities.  This individual will interact on a regular basis with senior leadership, both at Williams and with external vendors.
  • A Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, or Business. MBA preferred along with 10 to 15 years of experience performing complex business analysis.
  • Five plus years of professional experience in strategic sourcing, or supply chain management
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Ability to perform and direct moderately complex statistical analysis in MS Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience with word processing, presentation and database applications/programs such as those contained in MS Office Suite to effectively communicate internally and externally.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze complex financial and/or quantitative market information to draw conclusions and make educated recommendations.
  • Ability to conduct large group meetings and presentations for internal and external clients at all levels, including executive management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of spend analysis techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and mentoring skills; participate in a team environment and build strong working relationships.
  • Ability to negotiate with vendors at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive materials and information.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of logistics and supply chain management.
  • Comfortable with interacting with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong sourcing expertise in IT hardware, software and services
  • Strong team player, with the ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships.

Relocation Information

Williams will not pay relocation costs for this position.
